Skin Tags

As I get older, I'm bewildered by the evolutionary advantage of skin tags (i.e., acrochordon). I know these are usually (read: almost always) benign and pose no health threat, except for shaving worries. For me, several appeared a few years ago. I quickly toured the interwebs looking for answers. Being relieved that skin tags pose no adverse issues, I now am eagerly mentally mapping their arrival and locations on my body. I recently found a new one in my armpit (as they are prone to skin folds and creases -- primarily the neck, armpits, and groin). I have three around my neck, one in an armpit, and thankfully, none in the groin. Only one poses a shaving risk, which makes the morning routine treacherous. As with any tumor, these are believed to be caused through irritation of the skin rubbing against itself. From the readings, the way to avoid getting them or reduce getting more is to keep your skin from rubbing. For the neck, lose weight. For the armpits, walk with your arms outstretched at all times. For the groin, bow your legs and walk like a saddle-sore cowboy. There... no more skin tags.
